Visit to Heinrich-Heine-Universitaet Duesseldorf

In July, Anitha Thillaisundaram visited the University of Duesseldorf and made significant progress on her joint paper “The normal Hausdorff spectrum of pro-p groups” with Benjamin Klopsch and Amaia Zugadi-Reizabal. Her other joint paper “Maximal subgroups and irreducible representations of generalised multi-edge spinal groups” with Benjamin Klopsch has been accepted by the Proceedings of the Edinburgh Mathematical Society.

Conference in Giessen

Anitha Thillaisundaram attended the Norddeutsches Gruppentheorie Kolloquium at Schloss Rauischholzhausen of the University of Giessen, Germany from June 9th-10th, 2017. She gave a talk in German on “Maximal subgroups of branch groups”.

     

SEED Grant for the Student Maths Society

Anitha Thillaisundaram successfully secured a Student Engagement and Educational Development (SEED) grant from the University of Lincoln to support the university’s student maths society.

4th Biennial Group Theory Conference in Kuala Lumpur

Anitha Thillaisundaram was an invited speaker at the 4th Biennial Group Theory Conference at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She spoke on branch groups.

Anitha Thillaisundaram gave a talk at the Heinrich-Heine-Universitaet algebra research seminar

hhuAnitha visited the Heinrich-Heine-Universitaet Duesseldorf during the months of December and January. Aside from her collaborations there, she gave a talk on the “Automorphisms of finite p-groups” at the algebra research seminar on Monday the 16th of January.

Anitha Thillaisundaram visited the University of Cambridge on the 26th of October 2016 and gave a talk there on branch groups at the Algebra Seminar.
